Ice Waste

The Ice Wasteland is the former New Camp in the western part of the Valley of Mines, transformed into a hostile frozen landscape by the ice dragon Finkregh after the fall of the Barrier. Where rice fields, a dammed lake, a tavern, and the great dwelling cave of the mercenaries, bandits, and Water Mages once stood, snow and ice now reign. The lake and river froze solid, and Finkregh settled deep within the old dwelling cave where the Water Mages' enormous ore pile was once stored. As the most powerful of the four dragons in the Valley of Mines and the keeper of their council, he despised humans and hid far from the valley's affairs. His aura of cold attracted ice golems, ice wolves, and other creatures that made the frozen landscape their home. Lizardmen guarded the approaches. The hero fought through the icy hordes into the cave and forced the dragon to speak using the Eye of Innos, before defeating him in battle and extracting the power from his cold heart to recharge the Eye once more.
