Blank Runestones are essential crafting materials for mages – every rune requires one runestone plus the spell's specific ingredients to create at a rune table. They can be obtained from the following sources: as quest rewards from the quests "The Path of the Faithful", "A Package Full of Lockpicks", "Fernando's Business", "I Have to Get Out of Here", "Lurkers at the River", and "Snapper Claws". One can be found on a table in the topmost floor of Xardas' old tower in the Valley of Mines. Milten gives one when asked about equipment at the castle. One lies on the table in the secret library alongside the sea chart and the Tears of Innos. Parlan gives one upon becoming a Fire Mage. One can be found in the water at the northern beach. One is a buried treasure in Jharkendar. They can also be purchased from various runestone merchants.
