Wolf

Wolves are aggressive pack animals found on the island of Khorinis and on the mainland in forests, on roads, and near human settlements. On Khorinis they have brown fur, on the mainland grey. They hunt in packs and attack smaller mammals like sheep and rats, but also humans. When attacked, they call nearby packmates to their aid. Pepe's sheep at Onar's Farm fell victim to them because the mercenary Bullco failed to guard the pasture. The hunter Bartok and other hunters tracked them in the forests of the Valley of Khorinis, but since the fall of the Barrier it has become too dangerous – Bartok gave up hunting after running into an orc. Young wolves can be found near the Tower of Xardas and at the pass to the Valley of Mines. An extremely rare black wolf was sighted on the path to the monastery – the Fire Mage Isgaroth had a novice deal with it. In the ice wasteland of the Valley of Mines, ice wolves dwell – stronger relatives with white fur and red irises, drawn by the magic of the ice dragon Finkregh. Vatras mentioned in his sermon about the creation of Adanos that wolves came into existence before humans. Teeth and pelts are valuable trophies, and with the Summon Wolf spell, a wolf appears to fight at one's side. Dragon snappers can bite a wolf's head clean off.
