Troll
Trolls are gigantic monsters with a massive build, standing at least three meters tall and weighing an estimated three tons. Their thick fur and leathery hide protect them from steel weapons and projectiles of any kind, which is why they are considered nearly invulnerable. They can kill almost any living creature in one or two blows. Trolls are slow but absolutely lethal due to their sheer mass – yet a nimble fighter who dodges their strikes can defeat them in close combat. They usually live as solitary creatures in mountains and inaccessible places, some in symbiosis with goblins. They are not naturally aggressive but can defend themselves excellently. On Khorinis they are found in the Troll Canyon, where the hero defeated a troll alongside Diego and recovered a focus stone, and in the monastery ruins in the Valley of Mines, where a young troll blocked the hero and Gorn during the focus stone search. Young trolls are more adventurous than adults and occasionally leave their territory – but even they should not be underestimated. The Khorinis trolls have a crest on the center of their head that their mainland relatives lack, and are significantly larger and darker in color. Trolls are hunted for their pelts and valuable tusks, though such hunts often end fatally. The orcs of Khorinis call the tusk ORTH-ANTAK and use it in the creation of the Ulu-Mulu. The tusk is also a rune ingredient for Shrink Monster. The paladin Ingmar taught his brothers-in-arms to become as strong as a troll.
