Snapper

Snappers are large bipedal lizards that should not be underestimated. Their skin is grey to light brown and they hunt exclusively in packs – they never hunt alone. They are extremely cunning, possess their own form of communication, and slowly stalk their prey before striking. A single snapper poses no problem for an experienced fighter, but an entire pack can bring even the most skilled swordmaster to his knees – two knights at the castle in the Valley of Mines lost their lives to a group of them. If one flees from snappers, they pursue over great distances. On the island of Khorinis, the majority live in the Valley of Mines, but they also inhabit the Valley of Khorinis and Jharkendar. In the monastery ruins of the Valley of Mines, the hero and Gorn defeated an entire pack and a young troll during the search for the focus stone. At Fajeth's mining site, a pack led by a particularly powerful alpha surrounded the paladins' camp. This pack leader possessed special claws that the merchant Lutero was seeking. Snappers are closely related to the razor. Their teeth, claws, and hide are valuable trophies, and from snapper weed combined with a strange mushroom and an endurance potion, a transformation potion can be brewed. Their larger and more dangerous variant is the dragon snapper.
