Minecrawler

The minecrawler is a large insect with three pairs of legs and pincer-like mandibles that prefers to dwell in cave systems. The common workers are relatively small and can be found across the entire island of Khorinis. During the time of the Barrier, they were only found within the Old Mine of the Valley of Mines, but after the Barrier fell, they spread into other caves as well – they can also be encountered in the Valley of Khorinis and in Jharkendar. The pincers of minecrawlers contain a secretion, minecrawler venom, that regenerates magical energy – similar to the venom of bloodflies. The venom is also found in crawler eggs, where it is even more potent. Skilled hunters can remove the plated carapaces from these creatures, which can be assembled into effective armor.
