Goblin

Goblins are small, humanoid, and feeble creatures barely a meter tall with green or black skin. They live in groups of varying size in the wilderness, in caves, and ruins – but avoid water sources, which is why they are never found near rivers, lakes, or coastlines. Greedy for valuables, especially gold items, they ambush unsuspecting travelers in groups but always ensure their victims pose no real threat. Even mages are not safe from them – the Fire Mage Daron was ambushed by goblins on his way to the monastery, who stole a valuable Innos statuette from him. Cavalorn was also attacked by them after bandits had knocked him out. Black goblins are twice as strong as their green kin and often live in larger groups. On Khorinis there are also goblin warriors wearing chainmail and shoes, and goblin skeletons armed with heavy branches. Goblins occasionally attach themselves to other creatures: in the Troll Canyon of the Valley of Mines, goblin warriors lived alongside a troll, in caves of the Valley of Khorinis they guarded a sleeping shadowrunner, and in the Valley of Mines they even accompanied an orc shaman. Lurkers, on the other hand, love goblin meat. Their bones are an ingredient for the Create Goblin Skeleton and Shrink Monster runes. The goblin berry named after them grows in the Valley of Khorinis.
