Demonlord

Demon Lords are the more powerful variant of lesser demons and rank among the most dangerous creatures in the service of Beliar. Like their weaker kin, they possess scaly skin, two broad arms, and wings, but are significantly broader in build with a narrower, longer head. They can only be defeated by weapons dealing magic or fire damage – ordinary steel is useless against them. Demon Lords are extremely rare and guard only the most significant locations: in the Temple of the Sleeper in the Valley of Mines they appeared with green-blue skin, while the specimens in the secret library beneath the Monastery of the Fire Mages and in the Tower of Xardas had dark brown coloring. Xardas himself had summoned a Demon Lord in his secret library as a guardian to protect his valuable writings and artifacts from intruders. Like lesser demons, a Demon Lord's heart can be extracted – a rare and valuable ingredient for crafting the summoning runes Summon Demon and Army of Darkness.
